Abby, Co-Founder, is a psychotherapist that believes healing is a collaborative endeavor that requires honest, caring and encouragement without judgement. She is as an active therapist that combines her experiences, education, creativity and sense of humor with a down to earth realistic approach to counseling.
Abby has experience counseling clients with depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, substance use disorder, addiction, domestic violence and much more. Her background enables her to be an extremely effective social worker who is comfortable counseling diverse groups.
Abby received her Masters and Bachelors in Social Work from Rhode Island College. She has worked as a psychotherapist and clinical social worker in community, group counseling, inpatient and outpatient settings for more than 10 years.
Akos, Co-Founder, is a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner and has over 9 years’ experience in evaluating and treating a wide range of mental health diagnoses, including treatment of adults and adolescents with Depression, Anxiety, ADHD, PTSD, and other psychiatric disorders. This work has helped her to develop her perspective on the challenges individual face, and how she can best engage clients in wellness care. Akos will work with you to prescribe medications appropriately and develop the best plan to support you.
Her goal is to encourage each patient to take care of their mental health by discussing it in a way that eliminates the stigma attached to seeking help. Her mission is to provide quality care in a collaborative, supportive, and judgment-free environment.
Akos received her Master's in Nursing from Walden University and her Bachelor's in Nursing from University of Rhode Island. She has psychiatric/mental health experience, in various roles, including inpatient psychiatry at Rhode Island Hospital and Butler Hospital. In addition, Akos has worked at Rhode Island Department of Corrections and outpatient clinics.
Fernanda is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker that believes everyone should have access to adequate mental health services that is supportive, accessible and client centered. She practices with radical genuineness and believes part of the healing process is the honest and respectful relationship she can create with the people she is counseling. Her goal is to create a non-judgmental space that can accommodate open conversation and active listening, to promote client’s well-being and progress.
Fernanda is bilingual in English and Portuguese and strives to be culturally aware and celebrates diversity. She attended school at UMass Boston for Psychology and Sociology for her undergraduate studies and obtained her master’s degree in Social Work with a Graduate Certificate on Substance Use and Co-Occurrent Disorders from Rhode Island College.
Vanessa is a Registered Nurse that is hardworking and reliable. She obtained her Bachelor's of Science in Nursing in 2011. Her experience in office administration ensures the best care possible for all patients.
With her driven attitude, she can do almost anything she sets her mind to. She is outgoing, dedicated, and open-minded.
She gets across people and adjusts to changes with ease. She believes that each person should work on developing their professional skills and learning new things all the time. For her, it is a pleasure to help and make things easier for her clients.
She is licensed in chemical dependency and social work. Desiree follows a strengths based/ person centered approach and provides supportive counseling to assist clients in effectively addressing and coping with personal life challenges by creating a safe space for clients. Her goal is to help clients reach their highest potential to live a more harmonious and happier life with her down to earth approach.
Desiree received her Bachelors degree in Psychology with a concentration in addiction studies and Masters degree in social work at Rhode Island College. She has experience working with dual diagnosis clients in residential, inpatient and outpatient settings.
Elissa is a clinical social worker that approaches therapy with empathy, empowerment, and non-judgmental support. She believes in trust, authenticity, and respect as the basis to the therapeutic relationship. Elissa is passionate about providing a safe and supportive place for clients to heal, grow, and develop an awareness of thoughts and emotions for deeper personal understanding.
Elissa received her master's in Social Work from Boston University in 2020, and is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) in the state of Rhode Island.
Tenial is a Clinical Social Worker who specializes in trauma and health and has a degree in Communications with a focus in health communications. Tenial understands the connection and impact of mental health on the physical body and know the reverse is also prevalent. She employs a holistic approach to mental wellness with a strong emphasis with overall wellness.
Tenial has worked with clients ranging in ages from 18 - 108, of various walks of life and, enjoys hearing each client’s unique story. Terrell is a social worker, who completed her bachelors and masters at Rhode Island College. She has worked with individuals who have PTSD, Anxiety, Grief and Depression. She specializes in Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). She has experience with the elderly population as well as adolescents.
Terrell believes in making individuals self determined, heard, & respected. She also, has experience in group therapy. Her experience has allowed her to help clients and advocate for them in cases where they are not valued. She has worked in the community, residential, & school settings.
Her goal in counseling is to create safe spaces where the client feels welcomed and not judged. The end result is always to make sure that the client understands that life is hard but, when you choose the brighter side of things, it can be turned around. The world needs more happiness and the turn around to counseling is that it starts with the individual.
Wanda earned her Bachelor of Science in Urban Planning from Morgan State University in 1978. She earned a Master’s in Social Work from Fordham University, NY. She has over 10 years of experience working with families, children, and adults.
Wanda began her career in Child Protective Services in Baltimore, MD. where she developed her skills and strengths guiding and reuniting families which led to her involvement in helping those that suffer from a substance disorder. Wanda has a strong passion and background working with individuals’, families and adults with substance abuse and criminal backgrounds who have been diagnosed with a mental health disorder. In addition, she has experience working with the elderly population.
Wanda approaches her therapy sessions with creativity, humor, and a down-to-earth, realistic mindset.
Danielle has been a social worker for over 18 years. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Sciences from the University of Pittsburgh; she also obtained her Master's in Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh.
Danielle's healing modalities include cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and meditation. She has worked with those diagnosed with depression, anxiety, and PTSD. Danielle is trained in EMDR. She has also utilized trauma-informed yoga as an approach to therapy. She has a broad range of clinical experience working with adolescents and adults. This experience also spans from various settings including outpatient, residential, and community-based environments.
Danielle helps to create a brave space in therapy by allowing her clients to feel supported and heard from a strength-based perspective. Being an advocate for helping others to understand the mind, body approach to treatment, she will encourage them to incorporate wellness as a part of their journey. Her approach is non-judgmental, caring, and compassionate. She also brings a sense of humor and is relatable. Her goal is always to help the client to be the best version of themselves.
